About me

I have gone through many iterations of my coaching practice. Perhaps it is a metaphor for life. We shift and shape our way into discovering the way of our path. I have had to be with the unknown and the uncertainty that often comes with discovery and change. We are not meant to see all things in an instant, but rather are called to remain open and receptive to the way of our lives. This is also called allowing, or as I like to say, “keeping our hands in the boat,” flowing with the current of what is true, rather than attempting to manipulate the waters.

I have been journeying toward the truth of my coaching practice for some time. I am intentionally walking forward and listening to that deep part of myself that never fails to rightly guide me. With a background in hospice and palliative care, and a consistent practice of working with healthcare providers, healthcare seemed a natural coaching fit. I am good at it. Yet as a coaching practice, it didn’t energize me. Here is the thing about truth. If we have not yet aligned with ours it will continue to rise to the top, nudging us in unsettling ways and demanding that we pay attention. We allow ourselves to be guided when we listen to that nudge, that inner something. It is all in the listening and in the practice of acting on what we hear.

I continued to listen. What I learned is that my coaching practice is not about a specific field, but rather it is about truth—how we access it, how we apply it, and how living our truth transforms our lives, inside and out. Regardless of what we are faced with in life, when we pause and practice accessing what is true for us at any given moment, we tap into something greater than ourselves, yet connected directly to ourselves. We begin to relate to and inside of life differently. We evolve.

The gift of having a background in hospice and palliative care, is that I recognize on a very deep level that time is finite; it is the one thing we do not get back. How we choose to live the time that we have is worth paying attention to and investigating. When it is time to transform, we courageously do so. We peel back the layers that have been confused over by the debris we have accumulated through time, and that has weighed us down for years—generations perhaps—and we allow ourselves to be transformed as if born again.

Change and transformation are real. This isn’t a belief that I hold, it’s a truth that I know. I have changed and transformed my way forward in life many times, and still now. I am continuously awed by the flow of my life when I turn toward rather than away. The more I practice living from truth as opposed to the expectations and voices of others, the more I experience indescribable magic.

Living from the inside out is a magical practice, and an enlightening one where, once you tap in, you become hooked. There is nothing greater and more expansive than truth and living from the core of who we are and in all aspects of our lives. This energizes me. This is where I want to meet you: at the intersection of who you have been and who you are becoming.

My approach

“You listen FIRST. Well and truly.”

—colleague

My coaching and consultation practice involves deep listening—an art that I enjoy and believe in wholeheartedly, and authentic conversation. In my work with clients, I use listening as my entry point. This allows me to collect the pieces, tune in to blindspots, access your truth, connect the dots, and begin to help you see the picture of what is happening more clearly.

I help bring more clarity to your experience.

As a professional coach, I spend time talking things through with you, fully, and with much spaciousness. I offer a different perspective while validating where you are. I speak from a place of mysterious knowing and insight, intuition, wisdom, and decades of experience working with dynamic, layered, complex persons dealing with real and weighty professional and life matters. I am called upon regularly to help move people from Point A to Point B, across the spectrum of life. I acknowledge that there is a gift to my coaching.

I am a tool. Use me.

There may be many times when our experience together feels therapeutic—that’s wonderful. I enjoy therapeutic conversations that lift and inspire me. I thrive on them. That being said, this is not therapy. I also know that it doesn’t have to be therapy to be healing, whole-ing, and support the authentic forward motion of our lives. It only has to be engaging, connective, and real—an encounter that hits the spot in all the ways that we need, respectfully—with a dash of compassionate in-your-face, truth-telling. There is no other way when working with me. Exchanging truth is a key ingredient to a life lived as though walking atop water—in flow. So, we tell the truth that we might experience life’s magic in all areas of our lives. Alignment.

I have many thoughts. Let me know if you would like to hear them.

I hold a master’s degree in industrial social work from the University of Southern California, focusing on change management. I possess more than twenty years of professional social work experience with more than a decade spent in hospice and palliative care, respectfully. The latter, and my work as a medical social worker, have been most influential in my life. I have yet to find anything more profoundly meaningful and complex than the way of life and the way of death. I feel honored to contribute to that which exists in the space between the two.
